The shooting took place on Saturday, May 22, on Avo Street in Stratford in the area of High Park.

Police have determined that a stolen Honda CRV, was used during the shooting where a group of juveniles were using the park, said Stratford PD Captain Frank Eannotti.

Occupants from the vehicle shot numerous times towards the group. There were no injuries, however, a home and a vehicle were struck, Eannotti said.

To date, four juveniles have been arrested including two 17-year-olds and two 16-year-olds in connection with the case.

During the apprehension of one of the 16-year-olds, he was holding a 9mm firearm with an extended magazine, Eannotti said.

The firearm was recovered when the teen was captured after he ran from police officers. The gun was determined to be a "ghost gun" with no serial numbers.

Detectives would locate the Honda in the City of Ansonia, which had multiple bullet holes.

All four teens were charged with:

  • Conspiracy to commit assault
  • Various firearm charges
  • Possession of a stolen vehicle

The department is urging anyone who may have witnessed the event or who has additional information to contact Detective Alex Torres or Detective Jon Policano. They can be reached at any time at 203-726-0275.
